It has been a little over 10 years since we published our first paper on polydopamine, a simple yet versatile coating strategy based on oxidative polymerization of dopamine. Since then, this approach to multifunctional coatings has been adopted by many researchers. To mark the 10 year anniversary of polydopamine, a collection of papers on polydopamine-related research has been published in a special Forum in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces.
