Messersmith lab students and post-docs presented our work about bioinspired surface coatings at the California Academy of Sciences NightLife event. At this event, we talked with museum-goers about the wine-, tea-, and chocolate- inspired coatings developed in our lab, and how they can be used to form biologically active surfaces on a variety of different materials. Visitors even got to make their own polyphenol coatings!
